Here at Mereworth Wines, we are instilled with a passion for fine winemaking, pouring our love, and a lot of hard work, into the land around us to create some truly exceptional wine.
William planted his vineyards in Wateringbury in 2016, in the ideal spot on the south-facing slopes of the Kent downs. A year later, he transformed an old oast at Brewer’s Hall, Mereworth, into a winery. It is here that William, alongside winemaker Scott, converts the year-round dedication in the vineyard into award-winning sparkling wine, which has travelled just a stone’s throw in its production.
We produced our first commercial vintage of English Sparkling Wine to great acclaim in 2018; the start of a long and pioneering journey crafting exquisite wines from our home in the inspiring Garden of England. All of our sparkling wines are made using the Traditional Method, with hand-picked grapes from our own vineyard. Every vintage is unique and each wine tells the story of our vineyard in that particular year.
White From White 2019
A traditional white English sparkling wine made entirely from our Chardonnay grapes.
With our 2019 vintage, there is much to celebrate. We have seen our vineyards reach maturity and our talented team grow. It is with great pleasure that we pass this bottle from our home to yours.
A delicately balanced white sparkling wine with vibrancy and subtle sophistication, our 2019 White From White features citrus flavours with gentle toasted notes, which compliment the honied fruit and nut aromas on the nose. A graceful, soft gold in colour, with a silky texture carried into a fresh, crisp finish.
Sparkling Rosé 2019
Our debut Sparkling Rosé. A traditional English Sparkling Rosé wine, made from our Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes.
With our 2019 vintage, we celebrate the growth of our vineyard, winery and talented team from its beginnings a year ago.
Created using traditional methods and assemblage, our Rosé is pale salmon in colour with golden hues. English hedgerow fruit aromas combine with rich and juicy berry and stone fruit flavours on the palate, lifted by a smooth effervescence. It was important to us to bring the complexity of a still Pinot Noir wine into our rosé, not only for the colour but for the depth of flavour. This tastefully textural rosé is a testament to the ripeness of grapes at harvest.
