The art of winemaking, with all its nuances and challenges, is the blood that makes our heart beat and drives everything we do. With this in mind, we have turned our hands to other drinks which take inspiration form the abundant fields and rich heritage on our estate here in Kent. With the traditional techniques of compounding, macerating, blending and aging, we have brought an English vintner’s touch to a range of Spirits.
Marourde - The Original Aperitif
A tradition revived, a recipe refreshed, and spirits restored
Here at Mereworth, or MAROURDE to use its ancient name, we have reinvented the world's oldest drink. Blending 9.000 years of history and a passion for winemaking, this thoroughly modern aperitif comes from steeping herbs and botanicals in our honey wine.
The perfect harmony of bitter and sweet, with a lingering zesty orange finish. Delightful on its own over ice, or as an essential cocktail component.
A celebration of the fruits and botanicals from our Estate
Our Mereworth Harvest Gin, crafted with the time-honoured winemaking techniques of compounding, blending and maceration, is made in recognition of the jubilance of harvest time.
Using the very fruits and botanicals that grow in the fields surrounding the winery, we steep juniper, home-grown strawberries, raspberries, apples and meadow flowers to bring you the ‘spirit’ of the land we care about so deeply.
Delectably smooth, with a delicate hint of fruit, our Mereworth Harvest Gin is best enjoyed simply, over ice with tonic and a slice of lemon.
Oak Aged Gin
A winemaker’s gin using the finest of toasted oak
Our Mereworth Oak Aged Gin brings an English vintner’s touch to a timeless spirit, using the time-honoured techniques of compounding, blending and maceration.
We steep a handful of carefully selected botanicals in 100% wheat spirit, before marrying this with some of the finest toasted oak available in winemaking, imparting nutty, spicy and citrus flavours to our amber-gold gin.
Delectably smooth, with hints of nutmeg and vanilla, and a long finish full of warming spices. Best enjoyed sipped neat over ice, or mixed with ginger ale.
